Legionella risk assessment in building water systems (ACoP L8, HSG274 and HTM 04-01)  

1 day course

This one day course is designed for staff who already have a good knowledge of Legionella in building water systems and wish to develop that knowledge to undertake Legionella Risk Assessments.  The course will provide delegates with knowledge of the Legionella bacteria and the ability to apply that knowledge in carrying out Legionella Risk Assessments in building water systems.

Building on their existing knowledge, the objectives for this course are to provide delegates with additional skills the knowledge to:

Identify and evaluate risk areas in relation to water safety

Be aware of, and understand how to manage the risks of  Legionella contamination

List the diverse environments in which Legionella can cause problems

Appreciate how Legionella colonises water systems

Be mindful of the relevant laws and standards for the management of Legionella bacteria

Describe the format and layout of Legionella risk assessments

Describe a risk assessment and logbook and know how to record relevant information
